#ICYMI: Last week, more than 12,000 local and global attendees gathered at the 25th World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) to discuss groundbreaking advances in the field. Driven by a shared goal to enhance the well-being of individuals grappling with skin conditions, A*STAR forges close collaborations with ecosystem partners to push the boundaries of skin research.At the congress, researchers from the A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*SRL) and Skin Research Institute of Singapore (SRIS) showcased their work in Atopic Dermatitis (AD), skin aging, hair disorders, therapeutics for chronic wounds and more. Notable highlights included talks by:- Prof Rachel Watson, Executive Director and Dr Oliver Dreesen, Senior Principal Scientist at A*SRL and SRIS, who shed light on the impact of factors like inflammation, pollution, and smoking on skin aging. - Dr John Common, Deputy Executive Director at A*SRL and SRIS, who provided new insights into the mutation behaviour of the FLG gene, a key risk factor for AD.- Dr Leah A.
