The Celtics are one win away from winning the NBA Championship leading the series over the Mavericks 3-0. Not much can stand in the way of the Celtics, who are on a historical playoff run. The Celtics could go 16-2 and finish off the 2nd-best title run since NBA went to a best-of-7 1st round. Only the ’16-17 Warriors could top it (16-1).They’ve now won 10 straight playoff games. Longest playoff win streak since the 2017 Warriors, who won 15 in a row. In NBA history, teams that win the first three games of a best-of-seven playoff series have a record of 156-0. In the NBA Finals, teams that win the first three games have a series record of 14-0.

I mentioned not much is standing in their way and of course the NBA has sent in “the extender” as the official for Game 4 in Scott Foster. Foster’s standing as one of the league’s most accomplished officials, he is also one of the most controversial. When it comes to Celtics games, wanted to debunk that myth before tip-off. According to the Sporting News, The Celtics were6-0 in the six gamesFoster officiated during the 2023-24 regular season. Throughout his career, Foster has called 133 Celtics games in the regular season.Boston is 73-60in those games. During the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Foster has been the crew chief in the team’s Game 1 win over the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and a Game 2 win over the Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
