If you’ve got a bunch of fresh peaches to use up, then why not make them into this easy and delicious air fryer peach cobbler? It’s perfect for the heat of summer (when peaches are best) since you don’t have to fire up your traditional oven and heat the whole house up to make it!

Why Make Air Fryer Peach Cobbler

  • Faster. When compared to baking in your regular oven, you can make your peach cobbler in the air fryer in far less time. That saves you time of course, but also cuts down on heating the house up, which is perfect for the hot summer months
  • Smaller Portions. Instead of making an entire pan of peach cobbler, the air fryer is great for making smaller pans or individual single serving ramekins! Sure, you can scale it up if you’re entertaining, but if you’re looking to feed 4 or fewer people, it’s a great alternative to the giant dish!
  • Versatile. You can make peach cobbler with fresh, frozen, or canned peaches, and a ton of different topping options, making it an extremely versatile dessert. I’ll make sure to give you all the details below!

If you don’t have an air fryer (yet), then check out my easy Microwave Peach Cobbler for an alternative option!

For the Peach Filling

  • 2-3 fresh peaches, peeled, pitted, and diced (about 2 cups of fruit)
  • 1 Tsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch

For the Cobbler Topping

  • 4 Tbsp salted butter (melted)
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp heavy cream or half and half

Ingredient Tips and Substitutions

  • You can use any variety of peaches you like (yellow, cling, white, even donut peaches). Feel free to sub frozen (thawed) peaches, or you can use canned in a pinch (but they will be much mushier)
  • Granulated sugar can be used instead of brown sugar if preferred
  • Feel free to swap in a whole wheat or gluten free flour instead of all purpose flour, but note that the texture tends to be more dense
  • Experiment with different seasonings, such as adding a pinch of ginger or nutmeg along with the cinnamon, or swap in almond instead of the vanilla extract!

Equipment Notes

You’ll need some form of oven-safe baking dish that fits in your air fryer’s basket or on the rack. I use 4 individual ramekins, but you can also use a single cake pan or pie pan (or two mini ones) – it’s pretty versatile for what you have on hand.

The cooking times may change slightly, but you can just keep an eye on it and add additional time as needed depending on the size of your dish. This recipe was tested with the ramekins and a Ninja air fryer for reference.

Air Fryer Peach Cobbler Variations

Frozen Peaches

If you cannot get fresh peaches, frozen peaches are the next best option. Thaw, drain, and dice them, and they may be used exactly the same from there on out as fresh.

Canned Peaches

Canned peaches are a time saver, but they produce a much softer texture than fresh or even frozen peaches. If you don’t mind very soft cobbler, feel free to use canned peaches.

A 15.25-ounce can should give you about 1 ¾ cups of peaches. This is fine (you’ll just have a slightly higher cobbler ratio), or you can opt for a larger can of peaches and use the leftover fruit for something else.

I highly recommend getting canned peaches in juice (not in heavy syrup) and rinsing them and patting them dry before use. This will give you the best results without adding too much sugar.

Cake Mix

For a time saving option, you can make air fryer peach cobbler with cake mix instead of a homemade biscuit topping.

Use about 1 cup of boxed cake mix (yellow or golden) and mix with the 4 Tbsp melted butter (you can still add cinnamon if you like). Follow the same cooking directions.

The cake mix topping is much less dense overall, sweeter, and it tends to sink down more into the fruit as it cooks. However, it’s still tasty and an easy swap if you’re short on prep time.

With Oats

While a cobbler does not traditionally contain oats (that’s a crisp) you can still add some to your cobbler if you’d like, for an air fryer peach cobbler with oats variation.

Simply add ⅛ – ¼ cup of oats (depending on preference) to your cobbler mixture before dispersing it over the fruit before baking. Use old fashioned oats for the best results texturally.

Pie Crust

You can use a prepared pie crust instead of the cobbler topping for a different shortcut, for an air fryer peach cobbler with pie crust variation!

Either top your dish(es) with a lattice of prepared pie crust cut into strips, or just add cutouts over the top (a drinking glass works well to cut out rounds). Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar if desired for added flavor and cook as normal.

For a double crust cobbler, line your loaf pan or pie dish with prepared pie crust, then pre-bake it for 10-15 minutes at 300°F – 325°F (depending on your available settings) until it’s mostly set. Then, add the filling, top with your remaining crust pieces, and proceed as normal.

Recipe FAQs

How Do I Prepare the Peaches for Air Fryer Peach Cobbler?

If using fresh peaches, peel and slice or dice them. If using canned peaches, drain them well.

You can also use frozen peaches; just thaw and drain them before use.

Can I Use Frozen Peaches for This Recipe?

Yes, you can use frozen peaches.

Make sure to thaw and drain them thoroughly to avoid excess moisture in your cobbler.

What Temperature Should I Set My Air Fryer To?

Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for the best results when making peach cobbler.

This temperature is the right balance to get a brown (but not over brown) top, while cooking the filling through.

How Long Does It Take to Cook Peach Cobbler in the Air Fryer?

Cooking time for peach cobbler in the air fryer is typically 20-25 minutes, or 15 minutes if divided into smaller ramekins.

Check for a golden-brown crust and bubbling filling to ensure it’s done.

Do I Need to Preheat the Air Fryer Before Cooking?

You don’t have to preheat the air fryer. However, preheating ensures even cooking and helps achieve the perfect texture for your cobbler.

If you do not preheat, plan to add an extra 1-2 minutes to account for a cooler starting temperature.

Can I Make Individual Servings of Peach Cobbler in the Air Fryer?

Yes, you can make individual servings using ramekins.

Adjust the cooking time to around 15-20 minutes, depending on the size of the ramekins.

How Do I Store Leftover Peach Cobbler?

Store leftover peach cobbler in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheat in the air fryer (3-4 minutes at 350°F) or microwave (about 1 minute on high) before serving.

Can I Add Other Fruits to the Peach Cobbler?

Yes, you can add other fruits like berries, cherries, apples, or pears to your peach cobbler for a mixed fruit variation.

Adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of the additional fruits.

How Do I Make the Topping for Air Fryer Peach Cobbler?

The topping is made by mixing flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add melted butter and milk or cream, stirring until a thick batter forms.

Spoon the batter over the peaches before air frying, leaving natural spaces for the filling to bubble through.

Can I Make a Healthier Version of Air Fryer Peach Cobbler?

Yes, you can make a healthier version by using whole wheat flour, reducing the amount of sugar, and substituting butter with a healthier fat like coconut oil.

However, note that these substitutions will alter the flavor and texture of the cobbler overall, but is a great way to make a healthier option.

What Kind of Pan Should I Use in the Air Fryer?

Use an oven safe baking dish or cake pan that fits comfortably in your air fryer basket.

Silicone baking dishes, ramekins, or metal pans work well and ensure even cooking.

How Can I Tell When the Peach Cobbler Is Done?

The peach cobbler is done when the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the topping comes out clean.

The filling should be bubbly around the edges.

Can I Serve Air Fryer Peach Cobbler with Ice Cream?

Yes, peach cobbler is delicious served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

The contrast of warm cobbler and cold ice cream is a classic combination!

Final Thoughts

This easy air fryer peach cobbler is the perfect way to make a comforting dessert, even in the heat of summer when peaches are freshest! Of course, you can also enjoy it year round thanks to canned and frozen peach options if you’d like.

I like making mine in four ramekins, which are each a perfect single serving size – perfect when you’re not feeding an entire crowd. Of course, you can make a larger pan if you prefer, but I think this is a nice alternative to an entire casserole dish filled with cobbler.

Serve your peach cobbler up warm, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the perfect sweet treat. Pair it with my delicious peach cobbler co*cktail for the ultimate coordinating drink option!
